Serious bike collision injures rider

A serious motorcycle collision on the outgoing lane of East Broadway has left a 34-year-old Paget man with head and shoulder injuries.

Police responded to the crash shortly after 3.30pm yesterday.

The accident, which occurred near the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, backed up afternoon traffic throughout the city as motorists were directed up Lane Hill.

Authorities said the rider appeared to lose control of his vehicle, veering into the other lane and colliding with a car travelling in the same direction.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision to call 295-0011.

• A collision between a car and a motorcycle on Parsons Road on Wednesday resulted in two people being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

According to Police, Wednesday’s crash occurred around 6pm near the junction with Fentons Drive. The rider, a Hamilton Parish man believed to be 55, was injured along with the driver of the car, a Pembroke woman believed to be 56. Both were later discharged from the hospital. The collision is under investigation, and witnesses have been asked to contact the Police telephone number at 295-0011.
