Teenage dangerous driver loses licence

A teenager who appeared in Magistrates’ Court for dangerous driving has lost his licence for 18 months.

Thomas Patterson, 19, of Hamilton Parish, was also fined $1,000 by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.

Crown counsel Alan Richards told the court that Patterson was stopped on January 5 at about 1pm after cutting in front of cars on his motorcycle along North Shore Road, Devonshire.

Patterson zigzagged in front of a woman on an auxiliary cycle, causing her to brake, and overtook more vehicles, forcing oncoming traffic to pull over.

The conviction carries a mandatory disqualification from the roads.
