Shares of Ascendant Group improved by 73 cents, or 8.6 per cent, to $9.25 after 500 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There were no other trades on the index, which closed the day 7.04 points higher, or 0.36 per cent, at 1,982.79.

On the New York Stock Exchange shares of Butterfield Bank were nine cents lower, or 0.28 per cent, at $32.09.

The BSX Insurance Index was 2.74 points higher, or 0.15 per cent, at 1,786.41.
