One shares jump 15%

One Communications: shares rose sharply to reach a new 52-week high

One Communications Ltd shares leapt 15 per cent today as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose for the eighth successive trading day.

The telecommunications group climbed 39 cents on the trading of 5,000 shares to a new 52-week high of $2.99.

Butterfield Bank also had a positive day, climbing 25 cents, or 0.7 per cent, to close the week on $35.50 — also a new 52-week high — as 1,697 shares traded.

The bank’s New York Stock Exchange-listed shares also gained ground, climbing 45 cents, or 1.25 per cent, to close at an all-time closing high of $36.57.

The BSX Index closed at 2,121.17, up 16.6 points, or 0.8 per cent. Trading volume was 6,697 shares and turnover totalled $75,024.10.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 5.19 points, or 0.3 per cent, to close on 1,838.88.
