HSBC Holdings’ shares were down 30 cents, or 3.04 per cent, at $9.55 after 45,777 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also falling was BF&M Ltd, down five cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $18.25 after 3,050 shares changed hands.

Shares of Ascendant Group and One Communications also traded, but with no change to their respective closing prices.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 95 cents, or 2.57 per cent, at $35.97.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 0.38 of a point, or 0.02 per cent, at 2,183.36.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 25.3 points, or 1.32 per cent, at 1,890.72.
