Butterfield Bank shares fell on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday, causing The Royal Gazette/BSX Index to dip 11.24 points, or 0.44 per cent, to close on 2,564.93.

The bank fell 25 cents, or 0.5 per cent, to close on $46, as 1,531 shares changed hands.

Butterfield’s New York Stock Exchange-listed shares moved in the opposite direction, gaining 59 cents, or 1.3 per cent, to close the day on $46.89.

Among international companies, 270 of shares of HSBC Holdings traded, as the bank closed on $9.70.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 4 points, or 0.2 per cent, to close on 1,923.99.
