Shares of Butterfield Bank were up $1, or 3.7 per cent, at $28 after 300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The bank’s shares were up 35 cents, or 1.24 per cent, at $27.96 in New York.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 44.98 points, or 2.3 per cent, at 2,002.38, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 4.18 points, or 0.24 per cent, at 1,748.19.
