Shares of One Communications Ltd gained 1.3 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The telecommunications group climbed five cents to close on $3.85 as 8,000 of its shares changed hands.

One was the only stock to trade on the BSX. The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 0.69 of a point to close on 2,085.06.

The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank surged 46 cents, or 1.49 per cent, to close on $31.39 on the New York Stock Exchange. The bank last traded at $30.25 on the BSX.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 0.28 of a point to close on 1,749.31.
