Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by nine cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $33.49 after 3,440 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.In New York, the bank’s shares were up 37 cents, or 1.11 per cent, at $33.79.On the local exchange, a total of 1,400 shares of Ascendant Group Ltd changed hands, but with no effect on the closing price of $31.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 4.05 points, or 0.18 per cent, to 2,220.5, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 9.98 points, or 0.54 per cent, at 1,866.36.
