BF&M Ltd has announced the appointment of Lily Chen as group chief financial officer.

Before joining BF&M, Ms Chen served as divisional chief financial officer and chief administrative officer of Berkshire Hathaway Group, reinsurance division.

In this role, the company said, she was responsible for leading the finance, reinsurance administration and client audit functions of the reinsurance division, overseeing the company’s reinsurance businesses in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia Pacific region and the Caribbean.

Prior to her role with Berkshire Hathaway, Ms Chen held leadership positions with Aviva Canada, ING Insurance Asia/Pacific and Marsh.

Ms Chen is a chartered professional accountant and has a bachelor of commerce degree with accounting concentration from the University of Calgary.
