On-island cloud and computer services company Applied Computer Technologies has been granted the Service Organisation Controls II standard accreditation for both its proprietary OneCloud and service delivery platforms. The certification is given to organisations who meet certain standards of control for technology operations that govern security, availability, information privacy and confidentiality. It is issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts.ACT, which has offices on Par-la-Ville Road, said the certification can be seen as the institute’s stamp of approval that the IT service provider adheres to the appropriate controls for data centre operations.Dave Bart, chief executive officer of ACT, said: “Achieving our SOC II accreditation was no small undertaking. Working with our local KPMG partner, our organisation established and subsequently provided evidence in excess of 100 industry standard controls relevant to both our OneCloud and service delivery platforms. “As Bermuda’s largest provider of integrated IT solutions ACT remains committed to ensuring that all of our practices meet the demands of our expanding customer base, while at the same time aligning our standards with those of the global IT community.”The company has OneCloud and service offerings in multiple jurisdictions including Cayman, Bahamas, Jamaica and Canada. •For more information on ACT and its IT services, contact sales@act.bm or call 295-1616.
