Court reports ordered on clothing thief

Court reports were ordered on a man who admitted stealing from a pair of stores in Hamilton.

Alexander Christopher, 48, this morning pleaded guilty to two counts of theft.

The court heard that, on July 28, Christopher was seen on CCTV stealing a $200 pair of Ray Bans from Argus Optical.

On August 2, he was seen on camera removing antitheft devises from shirts at the Pro Shop.

Christopher then put seven shirts, worth a combined total of $406, into a bag and left the store without paying.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered that both a drug assessment and Social Inquiry Report be carried out on Christopher.

Christopher, who has no fixed address, was bailed to observe drug treatment court.
