A woman this morning denied causing the crash that killed Jokeem Richardson.

Margaret DeSilva, 55, pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing the death of Mr Richardson, 23, by driving without due care and attention.

The fatal collision happened on May 10 this year on Blue Hole Hill. Ms DeSilva is expected to return to the Supreme Court on November 15.

The matter was one of several cases mentioned during this morning’s arraignments session.

Also appearing was Asina Harvey, 20, who denied blackmailing and threatening to kill another man in an incident on September 15.

Mr Harvey also denied having a knife in a public place on the same day. He was remanded into custody until the next arraignments session on December 1.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied a charge of sexual assault.

The matter was adjourned until later this month, with the defendant released on bail.

Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons set back two matters until December without the defendants entering pleas.

Josef Vleck, 47, has been charged with importing $8.5 million of heroin into the island in an incident in September.

And Danail Damov, 36, has been accused of stealing credit card information.
