A Sandys man admitted stealing from his girlfriend’s mother to pay for their dates.

Aaron Carmichael, 47, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft, totalling $1,300. Magistrates’ Court heard that Carmichael was seen on camera using the complainant’s bank card to withdraw money.

Carmichael admitted stealing the money to take the complainant’s daughter to the Pompano Beach Club.

Carmichael told the court he had made a “terrible mistake” and that he wanted to compensate the victim.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo adjourned sentencing until later in the month, releasing Carmichael on $1,500 bail.
