A St George’s woman today denied importing cannabis worth more than $70,000.

Natasha York, 41, also pleaded not guilty to possessing 1,430.7 grammes of the drug with intent to supply in St George’s on May 28.

Prosecutor Nicole Smith told Magistrates’ Court that the drugs would have had a street value of $71,525.

Ms York elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo adjourned the matter to November 30.

The defendant was released on $25,000 bail on the condition she surrender her travel documents and not leave Bermuda without the court’s permission.

She was also ordered to report to Hamilton Police Station every Wednesday.
