Motorcyclist banned for drink driving

A 38-year old man has been fined and banned for drink driving.

Leonard Ming, of Devonshire, pleaded guilty to providing a breath sample above the legal limit.

Ming was stopped by police on Southcote Road, Paget, on May 27, when police officers came across a bike on the ground at the junction with South Road. Ming was unsteady on his feet as he picked up and started the cycle.

Ming told officers that he had drank “four Elephants”.

A later breath test showed 203 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood — the legal limit is 80/100.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined Ming $1,200 and banned him from driving for 18 months.
