Man denies $11,700 drugs charges

A man today denied possession of more than 200 grammes of cannabis and the opioid fentanyl with intent to supply.

Kinte Smith pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to having the drugs on May 3 last year.

But the 32-year-old admitted having a grinder in Pembroke on the same date.

The court heard that the street value of the alleged cannabis haul was about $11,700.

Smith, of Pembroke, was released on $6,000 bail and ordered to reappear in court on July 4.
