Warwick man charged with drugs worth $290,000

A 24-year-old man has been charged with possession of more than $290,000 of drugs with intent to supply.

It was alleged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday that Luri Scott had cannabis, cannabis resin and tetrahydrocannabinol — the active ingredient in cannabis — at his home.

Scott, from Warwick, was also charged with possession of drug equipment, a scale, and with possession of $6,550, alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

The offences were said to have taken place on December 15 last year.

Mr Scott was not required to enter a plea because the case has to be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until the March sitting of the Supreme Court and released Mr Scott on $50,000 bail.
