Bulgarian men deny fraud charges

Two Bulgarian men denied charges relating to bank-card fraud in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Vladimir Vasilev, 31, pleaded not guilty to having a machine designed to make false credit cards for the purpose of stealing money.

Nikola Aleksandrov, 40, pleaded not guilty to having plastic cards with magnetic strips for the purpose of creating false credit cards. The alleged offences were said to have happened on Monday in St George’s.

Mr Vasilev and Mr Aleksandrov also denied conspiring to steal money from unknown persons between an unknown date and July 15.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until Monday and remanded the pair in custody.
