Sint Maarten man admits bank fraud

A man switched his plea to four charges of bank fraud to guilty yesterday.

Angelo Toussay, 35, admitted the theft of $2,350 from HSBC and an attempt to steal a further $8,590. Toussay admitted in Magistrates’ Court to possession of plastic cards with magnetic strips and a machine designed to make false credit cards for the purpose of stealing money in St George’s between July 20 and 24.

Toussay, from the Dutch-Caribbean island of Sint Maarten, denied the charges when he appeared before Maxanne Anderson in Magistrates’ Court on July 29.

The magistrate remanded Toussay in custody for sentence on Friday.
