Man admits assaulting estranged wife

A 33-year-old man yesterday admitted an attack on his estranged wife that left her bleeding from a head wound.Supreme Court heard that David Hill hit Samantha Hill in the face, pulled her down by her hair and kneed her in the head.The court heard Hill also poured a liquid that smelled of gasoline over her head.The attack ended after a friend of the victim intervened and called the police.Ms Hill was left bleeding from an ear as a result of the attack. Hill fled the scene on foot, but later turned himself in at Hamilton Police Station. Hill, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm on Ms Hill at her home in January last year. Acting Puisne Judge Craig Attridge ordered reports on Hill and remanded him in custody to appear at Drug Treatment Court today. • It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding criminal court cases.
