Two convicted killers are expected to appear before the Court of Appeal this month in efforts to have their convictions quashed.Kiari Tucker and Jeremiah Dill are among several defendants included on the draft cause list for the Court’s November session, which begins on Tuesday.Tucker was sentenced to 35 years behind bars earlier this year after he was convicted of the gun killing of 30-year-old Morlan Steede on November 3, 2017.Mr Steede, a Jamaican born father-of-one, was shot three times in the back and once in the arm as he was chased through the Deepdale area of Pembroke.Dill was sentenced to 35 years in jail after he was convicted of the murder of 34-year-old Perry Puckerin on January 2, 2010.Mr Puckerin was shot as he left the Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club in what prosecutors said was a “planned execution” and part of a feud between rival gangs.Alex Wolffe, who was convicted of a violent attempted robbery that left a man with more than a dozen stab wounds, is also expected to appear before the court to appeal his conviction and his sentence.Wolffe was jailed for ten years for wounding Borislav Angelov with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery and two counts of intimidation.The Supreme Court heard Mr Angelov was chased down Harbour Road by two men on October 23 last year and stabbed 13 times outside his home.Two sex offenders — William Franklyn Smith and Morris O’Brien — are also scheduled to appeal their convictions.Smith was found guilty by a jury in June of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 14 and sexual exploitation of a young person.O’Brien was sentenced to eight years behind bars in May for rape of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in 1988.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding criminal court cases.
