Man, 57, accused of prowling

A man denied a string of theft and prowling charges at Magistrates’ Court today.Chet Wilmot, 57, from Warwick, pleaded not guilty to five counts of prowling.The incidents are alleged to have happened on November 20, 25 and 26 in Warwick.Mr Wilmot also pleaded not guilty to two counts of trespass into two houses to steal wallets.The incidents are alleged to have happened on May 25 in Southampton and on November 13 in Paget.The court heard that the wallets and contents alleged to have been stolen from the Southampton home amounted to $700.Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until January 20 and remanded Mr Wilmot in custody.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
