A group of men yesterday admitted involvement in a fight after charges of assault in connection with the incident were dropped.Taaj Muhammad, 25, Jahdal Denbrook, 39, and Kodi Carlington, 25, all of St George’s, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to a charge of affray in connection with a late night fight on August 24 last year.The pleas came after Crown counsel Karen King offered no evidence for charges of assault on Andre Perinchief.The court heard that Mr Perinchief was working as a security guard at the East End Mini Yacht Club in St George’s.Ms King said Mr Perinchief had refused one of the defendants entry to the club because he did not have identification and was confronted by the other two.All three defendants went into the club and Mr Perinchief followed them.A fight broke out and the three defendants punched and kicked Mr Perinchief before they left the club.But police were able to identify the defendants through CCTV footage of the incident.Ms King said Carlington had no previous offences and Denbrook had not appeared before the courts in almost ten years.She added Muhammed was in custody and had already served two months as he awaited trial.All three apologised and said they would not repeat their mistakes.Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave both Carlington and Denbrook conditional discharges and warned them that if they appeared before the courts again in the next six months, a conviction could be recorded against them.The magistrate sentenced Muhammad to time already served.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
