Rawlins shows promise in abandoned match

Delray Rawlins scored 20 not out in an abandoned match against Surrey

Delray Rawlins scored 20 not out for Sussex Sharks in their abandoned match against Surrey in the Vitality Blast Twenty20 at the Kia Oval today.

Bad weather, including rain, thunder and lightening, meant the game was called off after 12 overs of Sussex innings.

Rawlins, who faced 17 balls, including two sixes, has played three matches for Sussex in quick succession, scoring 49 against Middlesex and 18 against Somerset.

The sixth-placed Sharks, the 2009 English Twenty20 champions, are five points behind leaders Somerset but have a game in hand.

The top four teams from the group will advance to the knockout stage of the competition, with Sussex two points behind fourth-placed Glamorgan.

Sussex face Kent Spitfires in the T20 tomorrow.
