St David’s begin title defence

St David’s begin the defence of their Twenty20 title when they play at two grounds on Sunday during a full round of matches in the end-of-season competition.

St David’s, aiming to follow on their victory over Southampton Rangers in the inaugural Premier Division Champions Cup last weekend, visit Rangers at 11am before travelling to face Somerset in their second T20 match. That game begins half an hour later than the 3pm start for the other matches.

Rangers, the Premier Division champions, will play a second home match on Sunday against St George’s at 3pm.

St George’s beat Bailey’s Bay by 13 runs last weekend while Western Stars forfeited against Somerset because of a lack of available players. Bay and Stars play in the other match at Sea Breeze Oval, as both teams look for their first win in the tournament. Bay were the winners of the competition in 2015 and 2016. They lost to St David’s by one run last year.

In the First Division PHC play Warwick at 11am at White Hill Field, with Somerset Bridge taking on Flatts Victoria in the second match at 3pm. Willow Cuts play Cleveland County in the 11am match at Somerset, while Devonshire Recreation Club play the Evening League Select.
