Man banned for drink-driving

A driver has been fined and banned from the roads for 18 months after he admitted drink driving.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Justin Lambert was arrested after a collision near Crow Lane Park at 3.30am on November 13.

Lambert, 34, first told police that he was a passenger in the vehicle.

When questioned by police, the Warwick man said: “Yeah I had a couple drinks, but I wasn’t driving.”

But the court last Wednesday heard that CCTV video showed Lambert behind the wheel.

A breath test found that Lambert had 137 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo also fined Lambert $1,200 plus a $150 fine for having no driver’s licence.
