Woman in court on drugs charges

A 25-year-old woman appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with the importation of $125,000 of cocaine.

It is alleged that Deja Anee Richardson, of Pembroke, was caught with 522 grams of the drug in St George’s.

She was charged with drug importation and possession with intent to supply.

The offence is alleged to have happened on October 27 last year.

Ms Richardson was not required to enter a plea as the case must be heard in Supreme Court.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Ms Richardson on $70,000 bail pending a further court appearance in June.

He also ordered her to surrender her passport, not leave Bermuda without notifying the court and report to Hamilton police station once a week.
