Stabbing in West End

A teenager was stabbed after a group of men got into a fight this evening.The victim, 17, was taken to hospital with two stab wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening after the incident in Cricket Lane, near Somerset Cricket Club, at about 5.15pm.Police say he was transported from the scene by private car to Port Royal Fire Station, and taken from there by ambulance to hospital.A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “Early information indicates that an altercation took place between several men.“Apparently one of the men involved in the altercation was stabbed and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.”The area was cordoned off while police process the scene. •Witnesses should call police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477
