Police looking into motorbike incident video
A video that appears to show a police officer shoving a motorcycle rider is being investigated, a police representative confirmed last night.
A police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of the video and is currently looking into the matter.”
He was speaking after a video was posted to a popular local Facebook group earlier yesterday.
The 16-second-long dashcam video shows a man on a motorcycle overtake a car stopped in front of him.
The reason for the traffic delay, which appears to be on South Shore Road, Paget East, is not clear. It is also not clear when the video was recorded.
As the motorcyclist passes the car, a man who appears to be a police officer wearing a white helmet steps into the path of the rider and shoves him on to a sidewalk and into a wall.
The man then runs after the motorcyclist and shoves him again as he drives away on the sidewalk. More than 330 comments had been made on the video by 7.30pm.
