Men tumbled over wall after bike crash

Two men were thrown over a wall on to the shoreline after their bike hit a wall.Police said that a 17-year-old from St George’s was thought to be riding with a Sandys man, 26, as his pillion passenger.The pair were travelling west along Somerset Road in Sandys when the bike hit a wall at the bottom of Scaur Hill.A police spokesman explained: “Both were thrown over the wall on impact and fell several feet to the shoreline below, but somehow each managed to climb back up to the road despite being injured.”They were taken by ambulance to Kind Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.The older man was thought to have suffered “potentially serious” back and neck injuries.Police said the teenager rider suffered leg and back injuries.The crash happened on Somerset Road near its junction with Morgan Hill at about 1.15am yesterday. Traffic flow was reduced to one lane while police examined the scene. Police have appealed for witnesses.
