Fun activities slated for youngsters’ week

A week celebrating young children and early learning, courtesy of the Bermuda Association for the Education of Young Children, kicks off on Monday.

Teachers, caregivers, parents and guardians of preschool, primary, government and private schools are invited to take part, as well young and old from nurseries and daycare centres.

The official opening, featuring music from various schools, will be held on the steps of City Hall at 10am on Monday.

But parents and children can get a head start this weekend by attending the church of their choice, a BAEYC statement read,

Tuesday commemorates healthy eating and fitness at home and school — and participants are encouraged to “work together, build together, learn together” on Wednesday by setting a play date between their school and with neighbouring schools.

Meanwhile, a “Mommy and Me Workout” will be held from 6pm to 7pm at Warwick Preschool, at $10 for adults, with children welcome for free. Guests are asked to bring their own towels.

Thursday is set for celebrating creative art with children. Schools are also encouraged to sign up for inter preschool sports on May 2.
