A back to school uniform and supplies drive is being organised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hamilton.

The public has been asked to donate uniforms, shoes, sneakers and socks for schoolchildren of all ages to the appeal, set up by the Bermuda Government and the Coalition for the Protection of Children.

The Department of Workforce Development also signed up college students to help with clothing drop-off, pick-up and general organisation as a community service project for the Government’s Summer Employment Programme.

An initial drive at the Seventh-day Adventist Church Hall on King Street yesterday was attended by Cabinet ministers Lovitta Foggo and Diallo Rabain.

The drop-off point for donations is the Church Hall, which will accept donations until the end of today. Families who are in need will be able to collect school clothes for their children from Monday to Friday next week from 10am to 6pm.
