Adult Education School graduation

Family and friends celebrated yesterday as 20 students earned their GEDs at the Adult Education School.

This year’s graduating glass included 11 males and 9 females, with most of the students between the ages of 16 and 22.

Caleb Scott, who secured the highest overall marks, was named the valedictorian while Kion Richardson was named the salutatorian.

Kimberley Jackson, the Director of the Mirrors programme was the guest speaker was the guest speaker at the graduation, held on Tuesday at the CHUBB offices on Woodbourne Avenue.

Donna Daniels, the executive director of AES, said the students endured a range of trials and tribulations, personal challenges and emotional challenges to achieve their goals.

She said: “The class really came through. They all had different challenges and they all rose to the occasion.

“They persevered, they stuck with it, they were dedicated and they were resolute.

“We are really very thrilled to see that commitment and to see them experience the success of graduation.”
