The first five bluebird eggs of the nesting season have been sighted.

The Happy Bird Company said the eggs were laid about ten days ago and will begin hatching over the next few days.

Christian Chin-Gurret, the designer of the easy-to-build Bluebird boxes, said: “I am over the moon that the first nest of the season has produced five pale blue eggs and I anticipate them hatching any day soon.”

Bluebirds nest in Bermuda from March to August and a bluebird pair can have one to four broods in the nesting season.

Mr Chin-Gurret has adapted the Bluebird Box so that the roof can easily be removed to take photographs from a bird’s-eye view.
