Bill Haas is among a cast of multiple PGA Tour winners that will compete at the inaugural Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course.
The 2011 FedExCup champion is a six-times winner on the Tour and has also represented the United States on three Presidents Cup teams.
The American joined the PGA Tour in 2006 and won his first title four years later at the Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, California, by one shot over Matt Kuchar, Tim Clark and Bubba Watson.
The other past Tour winners already confirmed for the inaugural Bermuda Championship field are Stuart Appleby, Russell Knox and Aaron Wise, who boast 12 Tour wins between them.
Appleby is a nine -times PGA Tour winner. The Australian was a member of the International Team in the Presidents Cup five times and has made two appearances at the World Cup.
Knox is a two-times Tour winner and has made as many appearances representing Scotland in the World Cup.
Wise, last year’s PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, won his first and only title to date at the AT&T Byron Nelson in only his 26th start on Tour.
“We’re very excited about this year’s initial commitments and know that fans have been eager to hear who will be in our field,” Sean Sovacool, the tournament director, said.
“With next week’s local qualifier that guarantees three more Bermudians will compete in the Bermuda Championship, this is sure to be a thrilling competition to come out and watch.”
Dwayne Pearman, who has won numerous titles since turning professional in 1986, including 13 Bermuda PGA titles, is the first local confirmed having received the tournament’s first sponsor exemption.
The former Port Royal head professional, who has lived next to the Southampton layout his entire life, will be joined by the top three finishers at the 36-hole Championship qualifier also being at Port Royal from October 16 to 17.
The inaugural Bermuda Championship, the island’s first PGA Tour event, is a 72-hole tournament that will take place from October 31 to November 3.
The field will consist of 120 PGA Tour professionals that will compete for a share of the $3 million purse and 300 FedEx Cup points on offer.
