The total number of Covid-19 cases remained at 141 after 30 test results for the coronavirus came back clear yesterday.A Ministry of Health spokeswoman said there were now 19 active cases of the illness, with 11 people under public health monitoring.Eight people are being treated in hospital, but none are in critical care, and 113 have recovered.The island’s death toll remained at nine, and its country status is still “local transmission with clusters of cases”.The real-time, seven-day average reproductive number for the virus is now at 0.53.The source of cases is:• 41 from overseas• 84 on-island transmissions with known contact• 11 on-island transmissions, with unknown contact• Five cases under investigationThe average age for positive cases is 61, with a range from 18 to 101.The ages of those in hospital ranged from 66 to 91, with an average of 78.The average age for deaths is 74 in a range from 57 to 91.Kim Wilson, the health minister, asked members of the public to sign up to the HealthIQ app and to update their status on a regular basis. More than 5,000 people have taken part so far and the minimum target is 10,000 people.Ms Wilson said the statistics, which are confidential and cannot be viewed, provided information that could show areas with potential cases, as well as the postcodes with most reports of the illness.The information is also used to track Bermuda’s performance on indicators used to gauge the timings for the four-stage return to normal life.
