Time to get the Doppler radar working

Government services upped their games during America’s Cup

Dear Sir,

I am writing out of frustration with the Bermuda Weather Station’s Doppler radar, which has been down more than working over the past decade.

As one of the thousands of people who work outside every day and miss this service, I am sick and tired of excuses as to why the radar is not working.

Imagine if you were a roof painter, had to make the call on Harbour Nights going ahead as planned, ran a landscaping company, a Works and Engineering supervisor trying to dispatch his workmen, a trucker trying to move someone out of their house or a tour boat operator.

The dependence on this service goes on and on and is costing the community in unproductive man hours whilst we work around the rain.

Many government services deserve credit for upping their game during the America’s Cup but unfortunately this was not one of them.
