Letter writer comes across as spiteful

Dear Sir,

I was shocked to read the wording of E. McNeil Stovell’s letter in The Royal Gazette today (January 2, 2018), which is defamatory.

You can have a difference of opinion, but for Mr Stovell to refer to the One Bermuda Alliance representatives as “stinking” is vicious, unwarranted and spiteful, and he should know better.

He went further to suggest “they should know their place”. If someone in the OBA dared to make such an outrageous statement, can you imagine the outcry of the Progressive Labour Party’s supporters.

The hypocrisy of his remarks is bound to cause concern within the business community, who are already nervous about investing in Bermuda.

I am surprised that PLP supporters are not content with their tremendous victory at the last election, but, instead of enjoying their success, continue to spew hateful comments at every opportunity.

If only they realised that this is extremely bad for the future of this island and that it will reflect badly on them.
