Café meal ‘a piece of art’ for a modest price

Good taste: Homer’s Cafe chef Jorge Lucero Navarro is earning lots of deserved praise for his cooking skills (Photograph by Jessie Moniz Hardy)

Dear Sir,Just a note to thank all Bermudians for the warm welcome you offered to my husband, Bernard, and I while we were visiting a friend to bring in 2020.This was our 75th visit to Bermuda. And we celebrated Bernard’s 75th birthday while here. We never cease to discover a new jewel, at every visit. But this one was unexpected. We went to the Masterworks Museum for lunch with its founder and creative director, Tom Butterfield and its curator Elise Outerbridge, at Homer’s located at the museum. It’s a small, informal restaurant, with a limited menu. I ordered avocado on toast with a margarita. When the meal arrived, I was awed: the presentation was a piece of art. And both the margarita and the toast were the best I have ever had. What talent the young chef has! The price: lowest that I have seen in Bermuda. So next time you are looking for a pleasant day, visit the Masterworks Museum and enjoy chef Jorge Lucero Navarro’s outstanding culinary talent, for a modest price. From a Canadian Onion.MARIE POULIN
