A salon in the heart of Hamilton is expanding its services and staff.

Genet Lure Salon & Spa, located at 6 Walker Arcade on Reid Street, has been open for almost three years and offers a range of services such as basic shampoo and blow, to weaves and extensions.

The salon caters to all hair types and has a staff of seven — five stylists, one beauty therapist and the manager.

The business will soon be offer acrylic and gel sculpting from a recently hired professional nail technician. The salon is also seeking another hair stylist and beauty therapist.

Annisha Blyden, the salon’s manager, said: “We cater to the whole family as we have two barbers who specialise in traditional hot shave and gents’ grooming. One of our senior stylists has been a stylist for over 30 years!

“Our spa services currently include waxing, scrubs, manicures and pedicures, and a variety of massages. Soon we will offer facials and body wraps.”

The decor of the salon is modern and stylish, offering hair services downstairs, with spiral steps leading upstairs to the treatment rooms, where massages and waxing are done.

Customers love the ambience and service, Ms Blyden said.

She added: “The first thing most of our clients say is that they love the look and feel of the salon.

“We pride ourselves on our relaxed and cozy atmosphere, as we understand salon and spa visits, especially in these hard economic times, are a special treat. You are pampered from the moment you walk in the door until the time you leave.”

Charlicia Henry, a 32-year-old accountant, and new customer of the salon, said the service was great. “I like the fact that they offered you complimentary beverages including wine, hot drinks and water,” she said, after having the hot stone massage. “The whole experience made me feel comfortable.”

The salon’s opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
