Flanagan’s Irish Pub has secured a place in TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame after achieving a certificate of excellence for a fifth consecutive year.

“We are thrilled to qualify for the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame. We continually strive to exceed expectations and have a great team that goes above and beyond, daily, to ensure our customers have the best experience possible,”said Chris Garland, director of Harbourside Holdings, the group that owns Flanagan’s, Outback, The Snug Café, The Loft and Divots.

“Bermudians are known for their friendliness and that’s something we want to convey as soon as someone walks through our door.”

The certificate of excellence reflects scores and reviews posted by customers on the TripAdvisor’s influential travel website during a 12-month period. To reach Hall of Fame status businesses must achieve an average of four-star reviews, or above — out of a possible five stars — annually, and do so for five consecutive years.

Mr Garland said he and the ownership team are strong proponents of the National Tourism Plan and the programmes and relationships they have developed.

“The Certified Tourism Ambassadors Programme and National Service Standards Programme have helped us to define our service levels, and TripAdvisor is a great way to quantify those efforts. I am so proud of our entire team and look forward to working with such dedicated individuals who promote our business and Bermuda every day,” he said.

Meanwhile, Heather Leisman, vice-president of industry marketing, at TripAdvisor., said: “TripAdvisor is excited to announce the recipients of the 2018 certificate of excellence, which celebrates restaurants and other travel businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings on the world’s largest travel site.”

“This recognition allows us to publicly honour businesses that are actively engaging with customers and using feedback to help travellers identify and confidently book the perfect trip.”

Flanagan’s, which is in the Emporium Building on Front Street, is the latest Bermudian business to be awarded a place in TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame. Others in Bermuda who have achieved that status this year in include Dive Bermuda and Somerset Bridge Watersports.
