Some business experts are predicting the Covid-19 crisis might lead to the world’s greatest work-from-home experiment.To help local businesses prepare, the TLC Group is holding a course entitled “Covid-19 impacts to Bermuda business operations and technology”.“As a result of increased inquiries from organisations looking to prepare themselves for employees working remotely, the TLC Group recognises some businesses and self-employed persons may need assistance with organising their operations to respond to Covid-19 impacts,” said Cha’Von Clarke-Joell of the TLC Group. She said data privacy and cybersecurity are still considerations for local businesses, when employees are working remotely. “Cybercriminals are not taking a day off because of Covid-19,” she said. “In fact, many are taking advantage of the panic and using our widespread consumption and sharing of Covid-19 related news via e-mail and social media as part of their cyberattack methods. “Combine this with the technology, training and support required to get workers who normally do not work from home prepared to work remotely and it is easy to see why, for many businesses, managing a remote workforce may be a challenge, but may be the only way businesses can continue to operate during a long period of island-wide lockdown.”For convenience, the TLC Group will be offering two sessions next Thursday, one from 12 noon to 1pm and one from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
