Showing appreciation: Simone Maranzana, of Portofino restaurant, delivers pizzas to Beverley Howell, a clinical administrative manager at KEMH

A thank you came in the shape of pizzas when Schroders (Bermuda) Limited collaborated with Simone Maranzana, the owner-operator of Portofino restaurant, to deliver ten large pizzas for dinner to the staff on the night shift at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital as an expression of gratitude for the role they are playing in helping the island deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. In a statement, Schroders said the photograph of the perioperative staff at KEMH, which was featured on the front page of The Royal Gazette on Friday “touched all of us at Schroders and at Portofino and prompted us to connect to give back” to those that are doing so much on the “front line”.Beverley Howell, a clinical administrative manager at the hospital, said: “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of you for your every kindness and generosity. All ten delicious pizzas were delivered to a very thankful staff.”
