It proved a day of dominance across the various classes in the Bermuda Karting Club race series at Rubis Southside raceway on Sunday.
In the Cadets, the day belonged to Nile Bean as he clinched victory in all three of the day’s heats, with Nathan Decosta and Jacob Hines taking second and third respectively across the three races.
There was slightly more variation in the Tag Senior but not in the top spot as Blake Horseman proved unbeatable, winning three successive heats. Scott Barnes finished narrowly behind Horseman in the three heats, with Stephen Corrado, David Selley and Richard Talbot completing the podium places, each taking third place in a heat each.
Although Barnes failed to taste victory in the Tag Senior class, he did enjoy better success in the L206 Seniors, taking a clean sweep of first places across the board. Edward Cook finished second twice, with AJ Durham claiming a second place in heat three, while Justin Lindo finished the day with three successive third-place finishes.
In the L206 Masters, David Barbosa and Jeff Sousa enjoyed a enthralling battle on the track in which Barbosa came out on top in the two of the heats, with Sousa taking victory in the other. Travis Lewis claimed two third-place finishes with Robert Wheatley also clinching a top three in heat two.
It proved a memorable day in the Horseman household as Ashley matched her brother Blake’s achievement by winning all three heats in the Tag Junior class. Jorja Thomas had to settle for second-place across the three races, while Jayden Brimmer and Jauza James shared the third-place finishes.
In the Shifters, Barnes and Owen DeCosta shared the honours, with the former proving victorious in two of the three heats. Ryan Rebello claimed two second-place finishes, while Rian Lindo and Ryan Lopes each secured one top three each.
