The Emergency Measures Organisation came together yesterday to discuss plans for the 2018 Hurricane Season.

The season began on June 1 and forecasters expect it to bring between 10 and 16 named storms.

Wayne Caines, Minister of National Security, received a briefing from EMO members about their disaster readiness, along with a review of the past two hurricane seasons.

A Government spokeswoman urged the public not to be complacent and to create or review their hurricane preparedness plan.
