Food festival for Front Street

A festival designed to celebrate food trucks is to get bigger to include a wider range of street food, the Bermuda Tourism Authority said yesterday.

The new Bermuda Street Food Festival will also move back to Number 1 car park on Hamilton’s Front Street after it moved to Barr’s Bay Park in Pembroke last year.

Pat Phillip-Fairn, Bermuda Tourism Authority chief product and experiences development officer said: “We’re welcoming back some favourite vendors who have been with us each and every year, but also adding a diverse cast of festival first-timers that will make the experience more well-rounded for visitors and residents.”

Twenty food and drink vendors, a mix of old and new, will take part in the event, which will also feature music from Devil’s Isle Audio and Live Wires. Ms Phillip-Fairn said: “With more variety in the food service options, we thought it was fitting to rename the festival to reflect how it has grown and evolved.

“We’re getting the word out to everyone to join us along Front Street on October 28 for what has quickly become a fall favourite for the community.”

The free event, the third in an annual series, will be held on Sunday, October 28. The foodfest will be marketed to tourists online, in visitor centres and through hotels.
