A cruise ship passenger was expected to be brought ashore to Bermuda for medical treatment last night.

The Anthem of the Seas was travelling from St Kitts to Bayonne, New Jersey, when the individual became unwell.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre duty officer said the vessel would be met by the rescue boat St David, allowing the passenger to disembark with the ship’s medical staff.

The transfer was expected to take place at 10.45pm before the patient would be taken to hospital by ambulance.

No further information about the passenger’s condition was provided.
