A flight of Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets touched down at the airport yesterday.

A spokeswoman for airport operators Skyport said the visit by the four jets was “a routine stop”.

The Typhoons were accompanied by a Voyager Airbus 330 tanker/transport, which is used for inflight refuelling.

The Typhoon, which went into operational service in 2003, made its combat debut in 2011 when the RAF took part in the military intervention in Libya.
