Church plans to ‘take Bermuda by storm’

Church members are to spread their message on the streets over the Bermuda Day holiday weekend.

Members of Glory Temple Church of God, in St David’s, will be in Hamilton today and tomorrow for an “an evangelistic thrust”.

They will give away Bibles and other religious literature along with food and other items.

Riché Robinson, president of the church’s women’s ministry, said organisers had decided on a different approach for their annual women’s conference.

She said: “God has given a different vision and I’m excited about it.”

She said “an army in the body of Christ” would “go and win souls and show the love of Jesus”.

Ms Robinson added: “We are taking Bermuda by storm. We are doing it with vigour.”

The group will be based at the Department of Health’s Hamilton clinic parking lot on Victoria Street on Saturday from 12pm to 5pm.

They will also provide music, dance and drama at Victoria Park on Sunday from 6pm to 8pm.

Members will visit areas of the city and Pembroke to talk about their faith in soapbox ministries.

Ms Robinson said: “People just have to know they are not alone. Everybody loves this island, it is our home and we want to change it.”

She added: “This is not the first and last. There will be more to come.”
